Adela Cortina Orts (Valencia, 1947) es una fil\u00f3sofa espa\u00f1ola, ganadora del Premio Internacional de Ensayo Jovellanos 2007, catedr\u00e1tica de \u00c9tica de la Universidad de Valencia y directora de la Fundaci\u00f3n \u00c9tnor, \u00c9tica de los negocios y las Organizaciones Empresariales.<\/p>\n

Tras cursar Filosof\u00eda y Letras en la Universidad de Valencia, ingres\u00f3 en 1968 en el departamento de metaf\u00edsica.<\/p>\n

En 1976, defiende su tesis doctoral, sobre Dios en la filosof\u00eda trascendental kantiana y ense\u00f1a durante un tiempo en institutos de ense\u00f1anza media.<\/p>\n

Una beca de investigaci\u00f3n le permite frecuentar la Universidad de M\u00fanich, donde entra en contacto con la teor\u00eda cr\u00edtica, el pragmatismo y la \u00e9tica marxista y, m\u00e1s en concreto con la filosof\u00eda de J\u00fcrgen Habermas y Karl-Otto Apel.<\/p>\n

Al reintegrarse a la actividad acad\u00e9mica en Espa\u00f1a, orienta definitivamente sus intereses de investigaci\u00f3n hacia la \u00e9tica.<\/p>\n

En 1986 obtiene la c\u00e1tedra de Filosof\u00eda Moral, cargo que mantuvo hasta el 2017.<\/p>\n

Es miembro de la Comisi\u00f3n Nacional de Reproducci\u00f3n Humana Asistida y Vocal del Comit\u00e9 Asesor de \u00c9tica de la Investigaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica y Tecnol\u00f3gica.<\/p>\n

Su magisterio siempre se vio ligado a la econom\u00eda, la empresa, la discriminaci\u00f3n de la mujer, la guerra, la ecolog\u00eda, la gen\u00e9tica, etc. Son \u00e1mbitos igualmente cultivados por la autora en sus obras.<\/p>\n

Premios y distinciones<\/b><\/p>\n

Premio Internacional de Ensayo Jovellanos 2007 por su obra \u00c9tica de la raz\u00f3n cordial.<\/p>\n

Miembro de la Real Academia de Ciencias Morales y Pol\u00edticas desde el 2 de diciembre de 2008, siendo la primera mujer que tuvo acceso a formar parte de esta instituci\u00f3n hasta que entr\u00f3 Araceli Mangas Mart\u00edn en 2014.<\/p>\n

Doctora honoris causa por la Universitat Jaume I de Castell\u00f3n (15 de enero de 2009) y por la Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Cartagena (27 de enero de 2012).<\/p>\n

Premio nacional de ensayo con su obra \u00bfPara qu\u00e9 sirve realmente la \u00e9tica? en 2014.<\/p>\n

Doctora honoris causa por la Universidad de Deusto (20 de octubre de 2016)<\/p>\n

Gran cruz de la Orden de Jaime I el Conquistador\u200b y Alta Distinci\u00f3n de la Generalitat Valenciana en 2017.<\/p>\n

Premio de la Cr\u00edtica Literaria Valenciana 2018 en su modalidad de Ensayo y Cr\u00edtica<\/p>\n

Doctora Honoris Causa por la Universidad de Salamanca, 2018.<\/p>\n

En 2018 sus compa\u00f1eros de profesi\u00f3n le han dedicado un libro de homenaje, \u00c9tica y Filosof\u00eda pol\u00edtica: Homenaje a Adela Cortina.<\/p>\n
